Re Movies: Miracle in Cell No. 7

Tonight i am gonna write a review on a family-themed Korean movie. The main star in the movie is Park Shin Hye, whom i hate a little bit actually.. lol. but somehow i couldn't deny her beauty :p

I first watched this movie when i was in Form 3, which was the year this movie out. I didnt remember whether i cried or not when i first watched it, but im definitely sure that i cried watching it.

This movie is about Lee Yong Goo,a mentally impaired father with the intellect of a six-year-old who had been accused to murder and doing a sexual harrasment on a little girl, Choi Ji Young who was actually giving him the direction to a shop that was selling a sailor moon bag. He was going to buy the bag for her daughter, Yea Seong (Park Shin Hye as the adult daughter). A brick fell on Ji Young when they were walking, then she fell unconsciously. So, Young Goo was trying to do the CPR by loosing Ji Young's clothes when a lady passed by. The lady mistakenly assumed Yong Goo as trying to rape the little girl.

Yong Goo was caught and being taken to the jail. Her daughter ws trying to sneak into the jail to stay with her dad by the aid from Yong Goo's room mates. The humors started when the four room mates was trying to engage with Yea Seong, and the room was started to fill with laughter. They learned to write, playing games and reading story books.

When his case was being read in the court, Yong Goo was not able to defend himself as he got tortured and threatened by the police that was being paid by Ji Yong's father. Furthermore, because of his mental condition, he was easily influenced by the torture and stated to the court that he killed Ji Yong. Ji Yong's father, who was a police commissioner had sabotaged all of the investigation procedures that made the case was easily judged. Yong Goo was punished by a death sentence without a fair judgement.

The adult Yea Seong was trying super hard to clean her father's name, even when her father was no longer alive.

If I was the producer, I would congratulate the director for making such a wonderful and heart-warmed movie. It was very appealing to the emotions and it made us realise that there were people that we should pay attention more, and moreover it reminded us of the integrity value. No matter what job are we doing, the integrity value should always be as part of ourselves.

Oh yeah, this movie had been nominated and also won lots of awards, such as Ryu Seong Ryong (Yong Goo) won Grand Prize in Film in 21st Korean Culture and Entertainment Awards, Grand Prize for Film in 49th Baeksang Arts Award, 20's Movie Star (male) in 7th Mnet 20's Choice Awards, Best Actor in 50th Grand Bell Awards and had been nominated for lots of awards.

I would give 10/10 for this lovely movie!!!!!! I definitely recommended you guys to watch it!!!

Thats all for tonight.

Regards,
Alia.
